If you’ve ever thought, “Boy, it would be cool to be a part of planning better and safer places to walk and bike in Harrisonburg,” then this is the opportunity for you. Our City is looking for a new member to join its biking and walking advisory team. The new member will join a 5-person committee along with engaged community members to work with city staff on new bike lanes, sidewalks and greenways in Harrisonburg. Subcommittee members meet only 6 times a year but make a big impact. Don’t ride a bike? Not a problem. The only things required are interest and Harrisonburg residency. Consider becoming a member of the City’s Bicycle & Pedestrian Subcommittee. But hurry! Applications are being accepted only until December 31st. Applying also shows the City that bicycle and pedestrian issues are a priority for our community, so spread the word. Join the Northend Greenway, Safe Routes to School, the Shenandoah Bicycle Coalition and the City in making Harrisonburg more bicycle and pedestrian friendly!
